Robertson's Ready Mix is seeking a skilled and experienced Road Mechanic to support our fleet of cement mixer trucks and related equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our vehicles operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills, a commitment to safety, and experience working on heavy-duty trucks and diesel-powered equipment.

Position Summary:

The Road Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and completing repairs on cement mixer trucks and other fleet equipment in the field and at company facilities. This position requires a self-motivated professional who can work independently and respond to roadside service calls as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel engine systems.
Perform preventive maintenance services on cement mixer trucks and fleet vehicles.
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure equipment complies with safety standards.
Repair and service mixer drums, PTO systems, hydraulic components, brakes, suspension systems, and drivetrains.
Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency service calls.
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch personnel, and management regarding equipment status and repair needs.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, service vehicle, and company tools.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty truck mechanic, diesel mechanic, or road mechanic.
Experience working on ready-mix trucks, construction equipment, or commercial fleets preferred.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brakes, and driveline components.
Ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently in field environments.
Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
